The Parks Department is charged with the duty of maintaining all the Cities Public Parks, parkways, playgrounds, gardens and grounds surrounding Municipal buildings. These areas enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors by providing open space, the beauty of nature and recreational opportunities.
Steve Murray is the Superintendent of Parks for the City of North Wildwood. He was born and raised in the Philadelphia area, began working as a seasonal employee during the summers of 1973 and 1974. He moved to North Wildwood in March of 1975 and has worked permanently since. He has received numerous Beautification awards for his landscape designs, including the "Suburban Greening Award - 2002" and the "Suburban Greening Maintenance Award - 2004 " from the Pennsylvania Horticultural Society, for the Lighthouse gardens. He has also written a book "A Guide To The Hereford Lighthouse Gardens With Tips and Observations for the Seashore Gardener".

Allen Park - 22nd and Delaware Ave.
Playground, tennis, street hockey, basketball, gazebos, and an observation boardwalk over back bay wet lands area. (Skate board Park in spring 2005)
Hereford Park - 400 E. Second Ave.
Passive park with natural vegetation and flower beds. Amphitheater hosts free concerts July through September. Thursdays and Saturday evenings.
Hereford Inlet Lighthouse - 111 North Central Avenue
Victorian style gardens surround historic 1874 Lighthouse. Award winning gardens feature 200 plant varieties. Lighthouse open for tours (admission fee).
Central Avenue Islands - Central Ave.
Twenty-eight landscaped traffic islands create a parkway through the center of the city.
Oak avenue Playground - Oak Avenue near Ohio Avenue
Playground for younger children.
Margaret Mace Park - North end of Central Avenue
Small passive park with a gazebo and flowers dedicated to the islands first physician.
North Wildwood City Hall - 901 Atlantic Avenue
Landscaping surround beautiful brick, Federal Revival style building.
Bay View Park - Fifth and Delaware Avenues.
Municipal boat ramp (fee) sitting/fishing/crabbing area along landscaped bulkhead.
Veterans Park - Spruce Ave. & Weeks Ave.
Passive Park with Landscaping and a monument dedicated to Veterans of all the wars of the U.S.A. Handicap access to the monument and benches.
